CopperPopThrill (CPT)/( kop'er pop thril ), n. 1 a four-piece band described by music enthusiasts as melodic rock/modern wave sounding, founded in the year 2000. 2 C P T ( CopperPopThrill ) are Voltaire Bohol - vocals, Gredge Salvador - bass, Joel Bohol - lead guitars, and Ryan San Miguel - drums. 3 Gredge, Joel and Voltaire are ex-members of the defunct UP Diliman-based band called Agnus Day. 4 Ryan is the ex-drummer of Loudwater. 5 their band name was taken from the album of Sugar entitled "Copper Blue" and a punk newsletter which includes the word "Manic Pop Thrill" in one of the articles, but nowadays they prefer to be known as just plain C.P.T. 6 they usually play at different Metro Manila clubs such as Mayrics, Altered Native Bar, Watering Hole Brewery and Freedom Bar among others 7 they released an independent album back in 2000 produced by the former manager of Agnus Day, Gerry Diwa, which they would later market through the internet. 8 Always been the Same, a song from the self-titled independent album shot to the number 27th spot in the Top 40 International Pop Charts of MP3.Com a couple of years ago. 9 they were also featured one time at Death Threats, an international zine site that features mostly independent artists in the U.S. 10 the band released their first mainstream album, COPPERPOPTHRILL, "Have An Agnus Day" late 2003, and is still available at all major record bars around the country. 11 The independently-produced album was distributed by GALAXY RECORDS. 12 despite the hard times in the local music industry, C.P.T. continues with undying passion to play their own brand of music.
